CRAZE FOR FASHION
NABARUN K PAL (11th grade)

Today’s world has been moving as fast as a TGV train and with it is
moving
the culture and the way of living of the common man. Fashion actually
creates a lot of
difficulty for the common man to keep pace with it. The modern
generation
has been affected the most.
Fashion is subject to
change in form and style according to the prevailing traditions.
Fashions
may be in dress, ornaments, hair style, customs, in food and drinks, in
amusement or recreation. Fashion changes like wind. Fashion is found in
all
ages whether it is man, woman or teenagers. Most of the craze is found
among
the boys and girls. They watch television programmes, see films and try
to
copy the style of the stars . They love dresses
of
the latest cuts and designs. They run after the new showy and
eye-catching
dresses. Girls move freely in new fashion like honeybees. Boys too try
to
copy the film actors in their actions, costumes, hair style and even
their
walking style.
Boys love driving the two wheelers at a high speed
doing stunts like one wheeling, etc.
These have also led to underage driving and many accidents have
occurred
because of this infact many have lost their lives. Teenagers have
lost
their culture and given in to wierd things. They have
forgotten to greet their elders by touching their feet and many other
such
which makes their parents and elders feel embarrassed in front of
others.
There is no harm in changing with fashion but excess of anything
is dangerous. People think that fashion is an indication of good taste but it is not so.There is an instinct in a man to look like a hero. Most of the fashion
is
the result of films. It is not wise for man to become a slave of
fashion. The man who maintains
his
originality is known to be the best man.

Clothes today are worn for comfort or…

Anuja Gopal (XI Grade)

People almost universally wear clothing, which is also known as dress, attire, garments or apparel. People wear clothing for functional as well as for social reasons. Clothing protects the vulnerable human body from extremes of weather and for safety reasons. Every article of clothing also carries a cultural and social meaning with it. Women consider clothing as an adornment, whereas men in general are not so particular about their clothes.

Women are more conscious of wearing good clothes whether they are going to office or going out to eat. Since earlier times, women have always dressed themselves in order to look pleasing and graceful to people…
But nowadays women may look attractive but it is not necessary that they are comfortable with what they wear too!!

New fashions, trends, styles…have taken over peoples minds so much that they now tend to overlook the ‘comfort factor’. Today’s youth is very particular about matching the color of their clothing to their shoes and trinklets...Especially in big cities they change their wardrobe from time to time in order to keep themselves updated with the changing fashion sense.

Many of the girls today wear skimpy clothes as they have a competitive feeling in theirs minds towards other girls their age… Many of the youngsters have a will to stand out in a crowd which makes them turn to fashion.

Some of the girls today do consider comfort as their first priority, whereas some go in for comfort as well as fashion. For instance, jeans are equally comfortable as well as fashionable. Moreover some girls even tend to sacrifice comfort for the sake of looking good, like wearing high heels. Comfort is a very essential part of clothing as it brings confidence and doesn’t make one feel conscious.

It is not necessary that fashionable clothes are not comfortable at all. For instance, suits are back in fashion and they are very comfortable. In many societies, people of high ranks reserve special items of clothing or decoration for themselves as symbols of their social status. A great majority of people also wear stylish clothing for special occasions only.

In the end I would like to conclude myself by saying, that people, especially girls should start wearing clothes that they are comfortable in, instead of becoming obsessed about looking perfect……....

The clothes today………are they for comfort or ……………………
By ALIK PAHUJA (XI Grade)

The changes with each passing day, hour, minute and second and during this transition , it is almost indispensable for us to forfeit the unsuitable and unfit things and move towards the apt. The clothes we wear are the perfect examples of how we crucify the undesirable and unfashionable stuff and fanaticize the fashionable ones.

From the point of view of all adolescent young and restless lads , out to take the world by storm , I would say that yes , we do want to prove ourselves to the world and the easiest way to do that is to look good and more importantly feel good about ourselves. In this swiftly changing world, a 16 year old boy is judged by the clothes he wears and not by what he really is inside. For instance my wardrobe abounds of hundreds of clothes but I wear only a few fifty as the rest create a baffle with the bogus fashion streak Besides , I do want myself to be accentuated , I want the society to think of me as a “SOMEONE”,A”REAL SOMEONE” and not just “ANYONE”. I don’t want to look dumb, clumsy and absurd, and that is why I or any boy for that matter wears tight T-shirts to expose his built, baggy and low waist jeans to look cool , leather jackets to empower himself and to be looked upon as a “BAD BAD BOY” (you know these days “BAD “ is the new “GOOD”) and put on heavy accessories . everybody wants to annex the attentions of others , create some kind of buzz ,to leave behind something to commemorate and our clothes help us to do exactly that .i would think a million times before walking off with my company in loose and comfortable clothes like Bermudas , tracksuits and pyjamas .

Well, it seems like the clothes today are just to flaunt oneself raucously and abstain comfort largely……
